For Olivier Robert, photographing a lake is a question of time. Of the weather and of the time that passes. He walks the shores of lakes on foggy or rainy days, when the sky and the water merge, sometimes waiting several days for the rain to break or the sun to fade. Minimalist, timeless, black and white, his images evoke, to the point of confusion, Japan. Chance has nothing to do with it. Olivier Robert is steeped in Japanese culture, even taking his inspiration directly from the expression Mizu Kagami, which literally means "water mirror". From Switzerland to Japan, via France, England, Ireland, Northern Ireland and Finland, visitors are invited to follow the photographer along the banks of 28 lakes.
