Since its founding in 1954, the Musée du Léman has acquired, preserved and valued objects, documents and specimens related to the natural history and human history of the lake.

With this unique set, the Musée du Léman has two main goals:
To create a memory of the lake to enable future generations to understand its history and evolution, but also those of its inhabitants (human and non-human), its users and its residents.
To raise awareness of the richness and fragility of the lake among today's and tomorrow's public.

Since September 5, 2019, the collections of the Museum of Lake Geneva are online.
